On the 22 of August 2024, Alan Croker the principal of Design 5 Architects will be introducing timber materials and their conservation, including finishes and treatments, a part of the AIA Heritage Series as the final seminar.

This will be alongside case studies from Gary Waller of G&C Waller Builders and Jack Barnes of Barnes Construction and Joinery. The session will cover selecting appropriate materials, maintaining authenticity, preservatives and finishes, types of repairs, structural issues, bridging consultants such as structural engineers and timber analysis experts, and best practices for window restoration and maintenance.
