Alterations and Additions

Design 5's work included reconfiguration of the rear section of this altered 1920s house including the kitchen, laundry, bathroom and living room areas, as well as refurbishment to other spaces of the house, and addition of a new underground cellar.

The design objectives were to open the internal spaces to more natural light and ventilation and integrate the internal spaces with the leafy external garden. Externally, the challenge has been to accommodate the client’s many programs within a tight site and do so with a sense of generosity of space, privacy and quality.
