Conservation Management Plan

Design 5 was engaged to work in association with Hill Thalis Architecture + Urban Design to prepare a Conservation Management Plan for Civic Place, Parramatta, as part of Parramatta City Councilís Master Plan. Civic Place has also long been recognised for its considerable Aboriginal historical significance, both before and after 1788. It is now one of several consolidated Council-owned lots, providing important pedestrian connections through the blocks between the railway line and the river.

The Conservation Management Plan identifies the possibilities for future use and viability involving retention, adaptation and interpretation of the siteís high cultural significance.

The Civic Place Conservation Management Plan was awarded a National Trust of Australia (NSW) Heritage Award in 2006.
